Multiple choice

Look, Tony.

I don't want a system of multiple choice that only really helps the middle-class who are already quite able to afford to relocate into the catchment areas of the good schools, creating sink schools on our troubled estates by default.

In fact, I don't want to need to make a choice at all. Any school around me should be good enough.

Is that too much to ask?

Many independent, ie fee paying, schools have rather low academic standards. Why is the government going backwards?

At last, someone else who 'gets it'!

It's like with hospitals. I don't want to have a choice of which underfunded, over managed MRSA infested pit to go to. I just want someone to say "You're going there because they're the best for what you've got and they've got a bed."
