Whitby evicted

A mole in the committee corridor reports seeing Cllr Whitby fuming at having to be asked to leave the Planning Committee meeting today as they needed to move onto the private agenda, from which all non-members of the committee must be excluded.

Wonder what could have enticed the leader of the council down from his office?

I really don't know how a national newspaper has never got you on board John!

The scopes you get are nothing short of a miracle . . . .

Let me guess John...

He wanted to talk to one the councillors present?

Never mind about that dude, you got anything to say about the Labour Group's apparent deputy leadership contest? Who are you backing?

Indeed Mr.V D! The point is that Councillors not on the Committee are not allowed to talk to those on the Committee when they are in private session (or even to be present lest they be judged to be intimidating them). Of course that gets in the way of Tory/Freemason behind-the-scenes fixing (which is exactly why it was introduced), but it seems incredible that the Leader of the Council was unaware of the rules or tried to ignore/ride roughshod over them. Standards Board case anyone?

Peter - I don't get a vote in the dep leader contest.

Anony 9:23pm - Quite. Don't know about the Freemason stuff and I'm not going to bandy conspiracy theories about, but La Whitless shouldn't have been in the room.

You can have an opinion without having a vote..?
